I’d bet all the cookies and temporary Internet files piling up in your cache have a lot to do with it. After a typical 2 or 3 hours online I clear mine and there’s generally about 50 Mb of them!
I downloaded a program called Advanced System Care a year or so back and it does a great job of tweaking things. Best of all, it’s free for the basic version. You can get it here: http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html

I agree with you about crime and guns, John. Sherriff Joe is on the right track but I think he’s a little too lenient on the inmates. As to gun control; Charlton Heston said it best when he was president of the NRA:
They can have my guns when they take them from my cold, dead hands! I worked for the Navy in Norfolk for 16 years before the civil service bloodbath in '04. I was in the second group of people to receive letters saying "Due to budget cuts brought about by the cost of the war in Iraq your position will no longer exist 30 days from the date above." I was 17 months from retirement and lost if all because this was a Better Business Adjustment and not a Reduction in Force. Oddly enough, all of the first batch of 800 as well as the second batch of 1200 people to get these letters were within 2 years of retirement. Strange, huh?
